A Brief Introduction To Fiber Optics Technology
Understanding how fiber optics used in everyday life are made and function is a fascinating work of art mixed with science. Fiber optics are fabricated using materials that transmit light and consist of a bundle of very thin plastic or glass fibers held in a tube. One end is at a light source and the other end is a camera lens, used to channel light and images around the corners and bends. Fiber optics have an extremely transparent core of plastic or glass surrounded by a covering named “cladding”. Light is stimulated via a source present at one end of the fiber optic and as the light travels through the tube, the cladding is there to hold it all inside. A bundle of fiber optics may be twisted or bent without distorting the image, as the cladding is designed to reflect these lighting images from inside the surface. This fiber optic can carry light from the light source over large distances, varying from a few inches to over many miles.
Vectors
2 Before proceeding to explain vectors, I’ll like to ask a simple question, “Do you know what physical quantity is ?”. If answer is – ‘Yes’, we are safe to go ahead but in other scenario I’ll recommend reading Physical Quantities. If we closely watch physical quantities, we can categorized them in two. Yes this […]
What is the Meaning of Electric Flux – How is it defined ?
2 Electric Flux – Definition : Electric flux gives the measure of flow of the electric field through a given area. We may define electric flux as- Electric flux is proportional to the number of electric field lines passing normally through a surface. If the electric field is uniform, the electric flux passing through a surface of vector area S is calculated by following formula […]
Why always glass rod got positive charge on rubbing with silk
You should have a confusion in your mind , if you have one. Far more than 2600 years when we rub a glass rod with silk it gets charged positively over and again, not even a single time it is negatively charged. If something is following in some manner for such a long duration, then […]
Understanding The Concept of Electromotive Force
1 In this article I will try to explain the concept of electromotive force. We know that if we apply some potential difference between two ends of conductor electric current flows. But that’s not all as if we look closer we will find that it is not sufficient to apply just potential difference for maintaining […]
Electric Field Lines – Deep concept of electric field lines
2 In this article, we will try to understand what are electric field lines. Actually they are nothing. You guys are trying to look for E-field lines, while they do not exist. We talk about them because they help us understand the interactions of the charges. Think about God, have ever seen him. No, none […]
Coulomb’s Law – Explanation of Statement , Formulas-Principle, Limitation of Coulomb’s Law
2 This article is about coulomb’s law. Here I have tried to explain it in simple words. Hope it helps you in understanding the coulomb’s law in a comprehensive way. As mentioned in earlier article, it had been first observed in 600 before Christ by Greek philosopher Thales of Miletus, if two bodies are charged […]
Experiment to Explain Frictional Electricity and Concept of Charging by Induction
Hope previous articles helped you in understanding Physics in better way. In this article I will discuss a simple experiment that will clear the concept of frictional electricity and concept of charging by induction. So let’s begin with the experiment For this simple experiment take a balloon and a paper pin. Hang paper pin with […]
